The Retrospective "Baudouin Oosterlynck, 25 years between the ear and the eye " (Namur, Belgium) delivered marvelous auditive experiences like Instrument N° 72 "A pro-peau". The igloo (see above) is a wooden structure covered by wall paper (Rota). In this sound igloo the listener is completely inside the instrument. The instrumentalist outside produces percussive pitch, color and space variations touching the skin and drumming with hands and fingers used as sticks. The wooden frame delivers different kind of surfaces (sound areas).
At the picture below you see the maquette for the large sound igloo (8 x 4,94 x 3,05 M), with four entries, two or four percussionists outside, and twenty listeners inside the instrument.
