Experimental music breaks away from conventional rules and pushes the boundaries of sonic exploration and performance.
“Passion
for Experiment” is
a bold collection of five video-music works and six audio
tracks, featuring contributions from twelve artists who each
offer their own interpretation of what experimental music can
be.
Curated by Paul A.R. Timmermans (aka P-ART), this project explores the unconventional, the unexpected, and the untapped potential of sound.
A
carefully selected group of experimental sound artists from
Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria and beyond presents
captivating works that combine field recordings, unconventional instrumentation, and intuitive composition.

composition.
Raymond
Delepierre (BE) crafts poetic soundscapes from dust
particles and environmental textures.
Mandrill Kin
(BE) explores tidal energy through free improvisation with modular
synths and generative sonic structures.
Petra Dubach & Mario van Horrik
(NL) create aleatoric percussion with vibrating metal rods on an
amplified tabletop, blending movement, chance, and sonic loops.
Mia Zabelka (AT)
fuses
violin, electronics, and found objects into an auditory translation
of chemical and structural processes.
P-ART (BE)
What unexpected synergy (meta-polyphony) arises when P-ART's live
performance with organic accordion and sound objects interacts with
his videoclip of unconventional and microtonal synth sounds?
Baudouin Oosterlynck
(BE) balances between silence and resonance and explores subtle
sonic transformations. For this occasion he lets Silvia Hatzl
perform on his bondage room music (1978) and brings his "Cercles"
experiment (1976/84).
The P-ART Projects
with
themes
ranging from intuitive music, through microtonal music, to The
Art of Silence
are an independent, non-profit initiative by P-ART, which has
successfully built an international network of alternative musicians
and composers since 2002.
Over the course of eight P-ART Projects, forty
contemporary music artists from fifteen different countries have
contributed, each with an exclusive, previously unreleased audio
work or music video.

where each P-ART Project has a dedicated webpage.
The
artists
in Passion for Experiment form a thematic group, bringing together
alternative music (video) artists from different countries. This is
the first time that experimental performers from diverse backgrounds
have been united
in
a
P-ART Project exclusively focused on experimental music. Passion for
Experiment is a bold collection of five video-music pieces and six
audio tracks, featuring twelve artists who offer their own
interpretation of what experimental music can be.
Released
in
an A5 booklet format (32 pages) with a DVD (+ download) or USB
stick, this P-ART project invites listeners and viewers to immerse
themselves in a world where sound, music, visuals, technology, and
authentic expression merge.
Unlike standard music editions where a DVD comes with accompanying text (A6), here, the booklet itself provides in-depth information and integrates the DVD/USB medium. http://p-artweb.net/PASSION/PfExp.htm
Passion
for
Experiment is more than a compilation; it is an open-ended sonic
journey that invites the audience to listen actively, embrace the
unknown, and discover new dimensions of sound.
